We are pleased to announce that Martin Hall has been appointed as a Director of Stour Environmental Credits Ltd (SEC).
Martin brings a wealth of experience to the role, alongside his position as Senior Environment Manager at Canterbury City Council. His appointment marks an important step for SEC as we continue to deliver high-quality, evidence-based environmental credit solutions across the Stour catchment.
Speaking about his appointment, Martin said: “It is a privilege to be part of such an important and innovative initiative. While the role carries significant responsibility, I am confident that my experience and skills will add value to SEC, its customers and its suppliers.”
In his first few weeks with SEC, Martin has already gained insight into the complexity of delivering environmental credits effectively. He recognises the vital role that SEC plays in providing robust, strategic and long-term solutions that support sustainable growth while protecting the natural environment.
Martin brings over three decades of experience working across protected landscapes and nature reserves, developing practical, large-scale approaches to environmental management and restoration. His expertise spans partnership working with Natural England, local planning authorities and businesses, helping to deliver coordinated and deliverable environmental outcomes.
Notably, Martin previously led work addressing bird disturbance linked to increased recreational pressure across North Kent. This resulted in the creation of the Birdwise North Kent initiative, a successful model that has since been replicated in other growth areas.
Looking ahead, Martin is particularly keen to support SEC’s work in delivering a range of environmental credits that will contribute to the long-term health of Stodmarsh, a landscape with which he has a longstanding personal connection.
